Wall stickers are easy to fit, but do require a little patience particularly for larger images, so we suggest that before you start to apply your new wall stickers you take a minute to read these instructions through fully. The only tools you will need are a little patience and either a plastic scraper or an old credit card. For larger applications, decorators low tack masking tape is suggested.
the silicon paper off the back. Care needs to be taken when placing stickers as they are not a reusable item. They are easily removed but are often damaged in the process.
Freshly painted walls should be allowed to dry for 2 weeks before applying. The surface should be prepared by thoroughly cleaning to remove dust or grit which will show up and spoil the final look of your design. Wipe the surface well and leave to dry before attempting to apply.
You sticker comprises of white backing paper, the vinyl sticker and a clear transfer sheet on the front.
Take the scraper and rub it gently but firmly over the surface of the clear transfer sheet, this makes sure that the sticker is attached to the transfer sheet rather than the backing paper.
There are two possible methods for applying vinyl decals, wet or dry. Generally smaller stickers or stickers being applied to interior walls are easily applied using the dry method. Stickers should not be applied on wall paper unless they are to remain there permanently as removal will damage the wall paper.
DRY METHOD FOR SMALL GRAPHICS
Place your graphic upside down on a table with the backing paper facing you
Peel the backing off from the first 2 cm at the top and fold back
Place the graphic in it’s destination and press down on the front edge of the graphic to hold it in position
Lift from the bottom and slowly pull away the rest of the backing paper at the same time as smoothing down the graphic to avoid bubbles forming
If any bubbles do appear, simply pull up the edge nearest edge and smooth away
Take care to prevent the graphic sticking to itself
DRY METHOD FOR LARGER GRAPHICS
Step One
Place the vinyl in your chosen destination and hold in place with masking tape across the top, but not right to the edges.
Step Two
When you are happy with the location, lift the graphic and carefully start to peel the backing paper from the top to half way down, making sure all the graphic is on the clear transfer sheet. If the vinyl is stuck to the backing paper, smooth the backing paper back onto the transfer sheet until it sticks and then re-try.
Step Three
Move the scraper at 45 degrees over the transfer sheet to begin adhering your graphic to the wall. Apply in a firm smooth motion to remove any air bubbles. Remember vinyl is very sticky so keep the rest away from the wall whilst you apply.
When you are happy with the above, continue in the same manner, removing the backing paper and smoothing over the transfer sheet in manageable section as you work your way down to the end.
Step Four
Please wait about 30 mins for the adhesive to attach to the wall, then peel back the edge of the transfer film slowly ensuring your graphic stays on the wall. If necessary, use your plastic scraper to gently rub over any sections of the graphic that have not adhered to the wall. Take care not to rub over the transfer sheet where there is no graphic as this can make it difficult to remove from a painted wall.
WET METHOD
For this method you will need a small spray bottle filled with clean tap water and one teaspoon of ordinary liquid soap and mix well.
The destination surface should be prepared and cleaned as above.
Step One
Lightly spray the cleaned surface then peel the vinyl-backing paper away from the application-tape that is holding the vinyl image and mist the vinyl image also with clean water. The more water you apply to the destination surface, the more you can slide the graphic around before it starts to stick, but too much water can cause problems with smaller detailed lines in the image staying together.
Step Two
Place the image (still stuck to the application tape) onto the destination surface as close to perfect as you can get it. You can slide it around until it is lined up how you want it. Be careful of small lines and details.
Step Three
Once aligned - Starting from the image-center and moving outward, squeegee out all the water and air bubbles. Start with light pressure, and slowly build with each pass over the graphic.
Step Four
Leave the image in place with the application tape still on for about an hour to dry (direct sun and heat will speed this up. Cold or damp conditions can extend this period up to 24 hours).
Step Five
Once dry, begin peeling the application tape from a top corner of the graphic.
If the vinyl does not stick, it is not dry yet. If the graphic starts to come off the surface (sticking to the application tape), press the tape down again and squeegee over the graphic a few more times, allow as much time as is required to dry and adhere.
We cannot take any responsibility for errors or damage made during the application or removal of your sticker. These are home decoration products and are supplied on the basis that you may have to touch up areas of paintwork after removal. Vinyl stickers are not suitable for applying to wall paper as damage may occur when the sticker is removed.
